First of all, Gaga wasn't doing Elvis last night. She was impersonating Andrew Dice Clay. It was creepy but fab.
Honey, I've seen Andrew Dice Clay in person* and Gaga was no Andrew Dice Clay. She definitely needs to keep her day -- and night -- job. Acting is not in her future.
I missed the whole thing (power outage due to Irene) but I think its odd to have an awards show based on music videos which they don't even play anymore. In fact, NO ONE shows music videos anymore so why give awards for them? If anything YouTube show be giving them out since that is where we can still see them.
Loved Chris Brown's performance. I did think he flipped in the air too many times, but his dancing overshadowed any of it.
That's what I want out of a musician .... to mask doing too many flips with some snazzy dance steps ......... yeah, this is pretty much why Chris Brown and 90% of the music that is out there right now flat sucks eggs .... not to mention ol' chris brown also gets to wear the hat of woman beater and overall d'nozzle as a person, so............
Actually, MTV still plays videos. You have to have an expanded digital package through your television provider to see them, though. It's not on their "main" channel. The only reason I know all this stuff is because I still have one kid at home. I haven't listened to current music for about five years, at least, but it has become noticeably better this year. Thank goodness.
I thank god I didn't grow up with this generation of music. It is the absolute worst. That show last night was past pathetic!!!
I agree. I am 26 and i hate the garbage that is the music of today. I like the old stuff with some current artists: (radiohead, u2, coldplay, sade, beck, etc) I don't really enjoy hip hop, rap, or commercial pop music.
Lady gaga was plain out weird. The whole elvis dude persona she is doing is horrible. IMO, Lady Gaga = Madonna and Marilyn Manson.
I thought she looked more like Fonzie.
