LOL, Rancho....good job! He spins straw into gold but you are right, he looks green. THIS is a good love story now! To heck with Mary Margaret and David(?). I could care less about that PC who's a cad. I'm really liking Rump and Belle. There is always a point where I almost like Mr. Gold and then he blows it. This week he did NOT blow it with me by beating the father.
Oh wait....that answers the question of whether Gold knew his past....he was screaming at the flower man....."you were her father!!" as he continued to beat the guy. So that answers that question....he always knew who he was, as well as the Mayor knew who she is.

New Episodes-Please Arrive Sooner!
1)I've loved this show from episode one. I'm simply a bit late to this thread.
I was a bit skeptical when I heard that Beauty and the Beast was going to be portrayed on OUAT since I am a huge fan of that fairy tale. I wasn't sure if the show would do it justice, and then when I heard Rumple/Mr. Gold was the beast, I really worried.
However...I was very pleased with how it turned out! I really enjoy Rumple/Mr. Gold and feel as if his character has the most depth. I'm torn on his character, which doesn't happen to me often. Sometimes I strongly dislike him, and other times I take pity on him. In this episode, I felt as if we saw the man beneath the harsh exterior, and even though he is "bad" I feel as if Regina is worse...especially after we discovered she hid Belle away, almost as a ploy to have the upper hand on Rumple/Mr. Gold. Oooh, that made me mad! However, that left too much hanging in the open, and I'm curious as to what Mr. Gold does when he finds Belle locked up in Storybrook, as he is CLEARLY still in love with her. I believe this will be happening in a future episode.
I really enjoyed Emilie de Ravin (sp?) as Belle as well. I thought she did a wonderful job, giving the audience a heorine to root for, and was exceptionally convincing with her portrayal of Belle. I believed she loved him, and not just because that was the storyline. Just as I believed Rumple loved her. While I have read some negative responses to the Rumple/Belle relationship, I completely bought it and felt the writers did a good job, though I think the episode could have been extended to add more detail (or, is anyone else for limiting commercials just a BIT?). I get the feeling we'll see more of the Rumple/Belle storyline, and I hope I am right. I like when I get the sense that two key characters really connect, and it was honsetly the first time I felt there was actually love in the relationship...I'm still not sold on Snow White's whole story. Perhaps I find the whole love triangle in Storybrook frustrating, and I might dislike David more than I do Mr. Gold at this point! What a butt!
I'm still wondering about Emma and how she is supposed to break the spell, and what the "favor" she owes Mr. Gold will ultimately be. I find myself thinking of Regina as the ultimate villian in this series, and get the feeling Mr. Gold may go through several changes, especially if (which I think is more of a WHEN) we see Belle return. I thoroughly enjoy his character.
For me...I'd rather see this storyline develop further and put less emphasis on the whole, "David can't decide if he loves Mary or Katherine, so he spends time with both, and sneaks around constantly." concept.
More Mr. Gold/Rumple and Belle please!!!
I'm really looking forward to the rest of this season and hopefully we get a season 2 where the story and characters can be further explored and developed. I think this series is a breath of fresh air on TV, since it is the ONLY show I watch with dedication. Keep it coming!!!

Welcome, mrspink! "Better late than never" as they say. I am also wanting more Rumple/Gold/Belle storylines. I became totally addicted this last eppie. IDK why but it just resonated with me deeply.

Yes, I was really disappointed in the whole Mary Margaret & David story. I could almost see that idiot standing in front of the store that had a two-for-one sale on Valentine's cards. And thinking...yeah, I'll just give one to each one! If a guy pulled that one on me, he'd better hope I can't find something deadly to hit him over the head with! But Regina is definitely the #1 villain(ess) on this show.

To show what I think of the prince and his storyline, I was reading the bolded as follows:
I could almost see that idiot standing in front of a train. It took me a minute to realize my mind wandered.

I'm pretty much at that point as well. I was rooting for them in the beginning, but now I'm just getting a bit annoyed (with his character, not with the show).

It's definitely worth watching, but you'd better start with episode 1 or you won't know what the heck is going on.

Exactly, this is not a show you can hop into at any point. You have to hav e seen it from episode 1.
I watched the eppie again last night, I liked it so well. Again, I could not tell if Gold's memory was triggered or he just stopped trying to fake out the Mayor. You can never tell with him except that he was in love with Belle, that's for sure.

Yes, you must watch from Episode 1 for the show to make sense. But, it's worth it.
I 100% agree about Gold and his memory...I feel as if he just stopped trying to trick the Mayor when he knew she had the teacup. Let me just add...it ticked me off when she was dangling the cup in front of his so he could barely reach it AND when she made a comment about it; though I cannot remember what exactly it was.
I'm extremely glad I'm not the only one who is fed up with the David/Mary Margaret relationship. Seriously? I feel like he fell off the stupid tree and hit every branch on his way down.
I'm guessing the ratings were pretty high with the "Skin Deep" episode, so fingers are crossed here in hopes of seeing that story line develop further. As long as they don't ruin Mr. Gold/Rumple as a character for me...I'm kind of rooting for him and Belle to find each other! If she changed him once, she could do it again. Not to mention I like Regina as the villianess with Mr. Gold going against her since we are unaware of his true ulterior motives, nor do we know if he and Belle will reunite (though I believe it was strongly implied) thus changing him back to a "normal" man.
