When I was a kid, I watched all the Hanna Barbera cartoons, especially Huckleberry Hound and Yakky Doodle, as well as the Flinstones and the Jetsons; the Looney Tunes cartoons; Beany and Cecil; and Rocky and Bullwinkle, which my dad also loved to watch with me (Dad was quite the punny guy -- I didn't get the jokes until I was a little older).

The Tick and the PowerPuff Girls are my favorite modern cartoons. I like the Simpsons, but don't watch much anymore.

Does anyone remember a short-lived prime time cartoon from the 80s called "The Family Dog"? I don't remember anything about it other than it was about a dog and his dysfunctional owners, and it was hilarious!

I vaguely remember Family Dog
. It was short lived. Something like ten episodes. Steven Spielberg and Tim Burton were involved, but the series didn't go anywhere.

Simply put, the best cartoon ever. Too bad when I first started watching it in the early 60's, I didn't get it. Boris Badenov...Self proclaimed "Worlds greatest no goodnik" and card carrying member of local 12 villians, thieves and scoundrels union.

There are still some great adult cartoons out there. I STILL WATCH the Looney Tunes when I can find them on cable TV. I stil llove Charles Fleischer toons, Woody Woodpecker, they still crack me up.

We grew up with road runner dropping an anvil on the wiley coyote; did we try that in real life? nope. Its still good clean family fun!
P.S. = Tonight I will be waiting for 12 midnite to watch Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network.....Futurama, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Family Guy, Robot chicken (the weirdest, and most genius claymation) along with the Oblongs, the list goes on and on. Subtle jokes that kids dont know its supposed to be 'raunchy or sexy"....I LOVE THAT LINE=UP.

Yes, that was a cool show. I was a girl, waaay back when The Flintstones were on at 7:30 at night...That music, and my dad would watch along with us, laughing at the gadgets too. Also; loving the Warner Brothers at the drive-in theaters; we would be in our p.j's and when that music would start up at twilight, we'd all go running back to our cars to lay on top of the roof, awaiting the obligatory Two cartunes and Two Movies for $1.50 (adults ticket). watching the cartoons, Quick Draw McGraw, Popeye, Rocky Squirrel/Bullwinkle...The Fractured Fairytales were THE BEST, weren't they? hilarious.
The new "Cowardly Dog"...he is great too. SpongeBob is pretty good too. I also like watching "Fairly OddParents" with my grandbaby; she turned me on to the PowerPuff girls too! I'm not ashamed to enjoy a "good toon" thats for sure!

Hey, seems like this ratty=looking dog even looks like Tim Burton doesn't he? kinda weird, circles around the eyes. It was a short-lived series. I also wondered what happend to a live show...Puppets; Dinosauers...the baby in the high chair was the greatest...Shouting "not the mama"...and hit the old man in the head....ABC was the network, and it was only on for maybe, one season about 10 yrs. ago. Anybody remember it? two teen kids, but they were all dinosaurs in suburbia; he worked like Fred Flintstone in a quarry, and Sherman Hemsley was the voice behind his grouchy, shouting boss....I think it was on Friday nights at 7 or 8 p.m. anyone know this?
