You are so correct. Instead of allowing you to focus on a particular move, the camera will shift to a different angle.

It seems as though the camera people are just supposed to keep motion - to keep up audience interest, and not to help you analyze their actual dancing techniques.

I'm not too too unhappy with this dance off thing. Yes, the audience is supposed to have the say BUT some "stars" just have too much influence over too many people (ie: Nancy Grace, Bristol Palin, Krate) for THAT way to be fair too. How many times have we sat here and moaned and groaned about a good dancer having to go home because of fan participation? We can't have it both ways and this will solve the problem.

Just sayin'....
I agree some stars do have an unfair advantage with a huge fan base.

Just typed a whole thing out it was clear as mud as to the point I was trying to make. So I'll just leave it at this.

Camerawork aside, Gavin wasn't even trying. He spent half of it on his knees. I actually like that they are using some of the methods they use in pro contests and that there might be more judged skill rewarded than popularity contest.

I watch it for the dancing, record it and fast forward more or less all but the actual dances. This last one is impressive since they all took lessons first but it should be understood that they have to continue to get better too.

I read that Gavin never stopped touring throughout this DWTS season. His obvious lack of rehearsal time would explain why his dancing improved only marginally. It must have been exhausting for him to maintain a busy touring schedule and then rehearse/compete on his days off.

Great point! When you think back on past seasons, stars who were flying back and forth, keeping other commitments gradually fell off and didn't improve enough week to week.

Fer shur. My comment was only in response to someone saying how distracting it was to watch the dance-off. Gavin would have been going home no matter how easy/difficult it was to see his moves. I'm glad the judges get some say now and am hoping there will be dance-offs every week instead of just one "save" like on Idol.

Donald said , he has to learn the fox trot, a dance for the Motown week, plus one in case he is in the bottom two! Three dances and vote, vote, vote everyone so I don't have to do the dance duel! I'm not sure what he meant by the second dance, maybe it is a group thing.

Hey, susan! Maybe they're each doing two individual dances this week. I can only hope to see Donald in action two times.

But you're probably right that they're doing group dances in addition to the individual ones.

I think you're right. Donald is a better dancer than William. But I like Cheryl a lot and she's done wonders, before, with her 'subjects'.

Refresh my memory, weren't the group dances later in the season??? I think he called it a marathon dance, have to look back at his tweets - found it, exact tweet is:

Three dances. Monday we have foxtrot. Tuesday Motown martharon. Then if we are in the bottom two we have the dance duel. So we need ur help

I really did think group dances were the last few weeks right before finals.
