Jessica: Stevie should be a permanent advisor. She gives such excellent advice but really respects the performers. She advised Jessica to slow down and yet told her not to do it if she werent comfortable with it. I didnt care for Jessica's song choice but it showed her amazing range and control.
Jimmy said, a couple of weeks ago, that it's time for an Asian star -- Jessica may well win this season and be that star. The judges all loved it, which is irritating because they're loving everyone tonight -- and that short-changes the really good performers.
Another trio -- DeAndra, Heejun and Joshua: I liked this better than the first trio. The song suited Heejun and Joshua more than DeAndre. In fact, I thought DeAndre's singing was a disaster. Joshua really shone and showed that he can do more than just gospel-type music. Heejun was ok but not really that good. Again, the judges loved everyone. JLo gave them an A for effort.
P2: Stevie loved him so much that she even sang with him a little during the rehearsal. Did she say that he looks like Jimmy in 1974? He's still wearing grey and still standing behind his guitar. But OMG. His performance is amazing. I had thought I might get tired of his growling but I havent. It really adds to this song too.
I see Jessica and P2 as the final two. And, of course, the judges "loved it". JLo observed that the judges are standing up too much tonight -- and she's right, except that it was deserved for Jessica and P2. Steven said something about the real P2 trying to climb out -- I didnt understand that at all. Randy praised his individuality.
TFW you deserve one too for your commentary - I like your summaries.
Thanks. If I wait until the end of the show to comment, I forget almost everything. So I have to type as it's happening.
