Most people feel Hollie is Not Worthy or Not Ready for a recording contract, and she should consider a vocal coach and/or vocal lessons. Dumbasses. Many also feel Hollie should come back when Hollie is in her mid to late 20's when her singing improves. There is no indication whether A.I. will be around that long. It's a good time for Hollie to come, as she is a great singer and could beat everyone else except my wife, Skylar. Those people are bozos and should be back to the stone age. Am I the only one besides gobucks that thinks Hollie is great?

It takes some courage and confidence to get on a stage and sing.
Most performers with successful careers usually spent years learning and failing, being disappointed, set back then gathering themselves up to keep on going.
They get booed off of stage, ignored by crowds, work for little and at times for no money with little comfort all for the sake of chasing their dream.
These contestants get more exposure to the industry in a few weeks than those who who spend years in clubs, fares and festivals.
If they don't or can't realize that and take full advantage of the platform they're on then it's on them and them alone no matter who they are.
Hollie seems to use every bit of courage she can muster to get on stage with little left for her song and it shows.
Skylar attacks the stage, she puts all she is into her performance and she has the confidence to do it every week. Unfortunately Hollie doesn't.
I pull for Hollie every week wondering if this is the week she breaks out.
Last week was a big step forward for her but I wonder if it's too little too late.

Hollie has made a comeback for the past two weeks. She almost got put down, by mostly Adele fans. Elise has been in the bottom three since the live shows, except for maybe two of her performances. It's surprising that she made it this far.

I don't agree at all. I love Adele and I think Hollie nailed Rolling In The Deep!!
I didn't think Son of a Preacher Man was as good though.
I agree it's surprising Elise hasn't left yet.
The only tune she has truly nailed is whole lotta Love. Nothing before or since has matched it.

I'm with you on all those points and I can't stand Hollie but do like Elise. I want to like her even more but it's not quite there. Even though nothing of hers has matched her Whole Lotta Love, she's still surpassed Hollie most nights.

I auditioned for American Idol once. Simon trashed me while Paula and Randy liked me. I never got past the group rounds because my group couldn't get along with each other. We finally got along, and ended up staying up all night trying to perfect it. Once our performance came, we forgot the lyrics and did not make it through. Good luck trying to find my audition tape, as I declined to have my audition filmed.

Wow! Thanks so much for sharing that, Kevdawgg. Did you ever consider auditioning again? I'd love to hear some insider stuff and I'm sure a lot of others here would, as well.

My voice sounds like a dying animal when I sing. I had to use a falsetto, similar to DeAndre. Maybe I would come after I take vocal lessons.

The falsetto worked for DeAndre. Look at all the national exposure he got. And he can now have his pick of cruise ships on which to perform. (Dont laugh -- that's a pretty good life for a young man.)

I don't get how alot of people like Jessica. Jess is a great singer but her high notes are too sharp and often screams them. Not very good for my ears.

I like Elise also and I agree with what you're saying. IMO what it comes down to in part is confidence.
For the most part Hollie has chosen better songs than Elise the difference is Elise has more confidence in here performance even with songs that she doesn't really showcase her voice. I wish she would cuz I love what she can do with her voice!
