Randy the wedding singer called and they want there suit back.
Speaking of outfits do the contestants have to buy there outfits each week?
I was thinking they do.
I don't know but I would guess that the show pays for those outfits.
Well - I agree with what Hollie herself said - she needed people to explain what the song meant and then she acted it. That's how it came across to me - no connection and warbly. Too much air blowing on her and she seemed nervous to me up until the last few good bars. Not sure what the judges were hearing That's two for two - hope the next two do better.
ETA: Joshua was great - understated at just the right times - he could have pushed that and lost some of the emotion but he's mature enough not to.
Jessica singing Etta James? Here comes Jessica's Xtina imitation. Even so, she could do a good job with this - some good boom time.
ETA: Surprised and glad she didn't go the full on Xtina route. Nice job. I think Joshua took this round with Jessica 2nd.
ETA: The boys duet was rockin - especially Joshua's part. The girls bombed but Jessica could have done a pretty job with that - I like how clear her higher register is. Unlike Hollie who is nasaly always and has other stuff in all her notes.
I am going have to invest in mp3 player, that was total artist by P2, you know certain CD's make good travel music, P2 is that. He also he would be fun to listen to like in small venue.
That remix you guys raving that he and Elise I also like it. I thought it was old song but apparently there is a new artist as I hear it on radio all time now, but I visualize with P2 & Elise.
Wow Texas your prediction might be right the judges are dogging Hollie out.
Philip shined with that second song - what a nice job.
Hollie's second - I actually thought she did better than they said - but still it was just way too much for her in terms of meaning. I don't think she knows what the meaning of meaning is lol. Exactly what was this 16 year old (or however old she is) feeling? I don't think she has a clue what that song meant. Vapid.
Oh Joshua is going to kill this James Brown song - can't wait!
Holy crap - I wish that was last song of the night. That was incredible. Joshua - holy cow. I love how he just channels whatever the hell it is when he's singing and then the last beat and he's back and looking all glowing yet modest. No false modesty either - he is a pretty remarkable thing.
Jessica sings well but she's no Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in no small part because of the emotional way she connected with everyone who saw her sing that song in the film. Jessica may sell CD's but she wont be able to do any successful touring until she learns to connect with the audience.
I think she connected that time, TFW. I was afraid it'd be too karaoke - and bellowy. I wasn't looking forward to it because it's so over sung. But wow, I think she pulled it off - that was a surprise. No surprise that she could get the notes out but a surprise that she emoted so much. It was a very different and more heartfelt performance, IMO.
Please, please let Hollie go home tomorrow!
