Forgot to mention little Holly. She sang great last night. Made me proud.
Fogerty flat out jammed. Loved that part of the show.
And before I forget... for Toosie!

OMG I love you - thank you! Her head is twice the size of Jessica's - looks like she could swallow her whole - and yet little Jess just stands her ground! That kid is something else LOL. Reminds me of a cute news item recently where a lion was going crazy trying to get through the glass to a tasty looking baby who was completely oblivious of the danger and just kept taunting the big cat

The screaming sound was even scarier!
Although, I do have to say overall I loved it. I was clapping my hands at the end of it. My soulfulness came out.

Soulful is one thing. But Geeeeeeeeez Louise. Overdoing it has always made me wonder if they watch their performances.

I was hoping Carrie Underwood would sing, it would have been alot better than some of that trash they had. So I sat there for an hour and 45 min. hoping to see something entertaining.
Thankfully it happened....Aerosmith! yes I know there just old over the hill rockers, but for me it was the best of the night!

What you missed about that Fogerty duet was that Phillip is a very distinctive singing style. All season long he bends the notes and melodies to fit him. He never copies a song like the original. I suspect if you had watched him for the last month you'd probably appreciate that duet even more.
Fogerty was fantastic. I'm stunned how well he can still sing.

I do have to say something about Holiday's performance.
She was in the part. That song, on Broadway, was critical to the musical story. She brought people to their feet with it when I saw the show.
It was really taken out of context last night because it was a "had to be there" performance and we were not "there" to know what the character had been through.
I can see where it would be a scary thing to watch and I would have been muting it immediately if I did not happen to know the background of the song.
Props to Jessica. She is such a tiny thing and to have that lion of a woman screaming at her and violating her personal space must have been daunting to her. But she held her own and didn't back down.

The bold above is probably the key to that performance. While the pic is somewhat frightenting - my first thought is the Alien b*t*h about to consume Newt... - it was a tremendous performance. But it would be best viewed from a distance... on that Broadway stage or at a concert. But last night the cam was just right up in their faces, showing us the spinach in their teeth. They shouldn't have done that. However, Jessica stood right up to it. If she had sung like that all season, Phillip would have been history.
The performance is instantly an AI classic. And I still expect to see Jessica on next season's Glee, in a leading role.
