New Upcoming Shows on HBO:

  • New political comedy series Veep starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus premieres April 22
  • The film Game Change, chronicling Sen. John McCain's 2008 political campaign premieres March 10
New AMC Show
New unscripted series Comic Book Men debuts February 12 at 10p. Executive produced by Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy), Charlie Corwin's Original Media (LA Ink, Storm Chasers) and Elyse Seiden (Red State), the series is set inside Smith's comic shop, Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash and explores the world of the neighborhood comic book store and the fanboy culture. The frosh season has six one-hour episodes.


New TV Land Show
TV Land approved the new series Have Faith, the spin-off series of Hot in Cleveland starring Cedric The Entertainer and Niecy Nash. Suzanne Martin is writing Have Faith as well as executive producing. TV Land has ordered 12 episodes of the series featuring Cedric as an R&B star-turned-minister, a character that was introduced in Hot in Cleveland. TV Land will premiere Have Faith in June.


New ABC Show
ABC ordered Shonda Rhimes project Gilded Lillys to pilot. The drama is set in 1895 following the first grand opening of a luxury hotel in New York. The plot will be filled with family rivalries, scandals and conflict among the classes.


New A&E Show
Bates Motel is billed as a prequel to Alfred Hitchcock's famous thriller film, Psycho. The network is presently in script development on Bates Motel which will offer viewers an intimate understanding of Norman Bates' childhood through his teen years and how his relationship with his mother and her love damaged Norman and turned him into a serial killer. Universal Television is producing.

Bates Motel might be good if the writing is and they get the right actors for the parts.
