The Hallmark Channel is replacing “The Martha Stewart Show,” the domestic diva’s flagship TV property, with a new daily show fronted by veteran song-and-dance entertainer Marie Osmond...
No kidding? I just found out that Martha Stewart was ON the Hallmark Channel the other day. It surprised me because I didn't think they had programming like that on there.

oh Hallmark, dear, dear Hallmark--please do not go off course and in the direction so many other channels have gone. I thought your standards were higher and leaned toward the nostalgic. The good ole days.
~deep sigh~
Martha Stewart had an awesome, high quality show, but when it went off network TV, nobody could find it.
They changed the format a few years ago from super interesting field trips and perfect quality crafts and cooking demonstrations to the average celebrity-of-the-week making a recipe, when they don't even know what a measuring cup is, but they have a new movie out.
The thing is, Martha Stewart has no personality. She is incapable of having a conversation with the celebrity of the week and convincing us she is even hearing what they are saying, let alone caring.
This is where the show went wrong.
I love Martha Stewart, and I respect her taste and talent. She took a good show and let others talk her into ruining it.

I had been under the impression that MS had the bargaining power in that relationship--that is to say, Hallmark Channel was so low-rated that they pretty much had to promise Martha Stewart Omnimedia the moon and stars in order to get her show onto their channel, much like the way she was able to dictate terms to KMart and later Macy's to have her products in their stores. I guess the tide has turned!
