It seems the last couple of weeks as I check the TV schedule everyday, they are running one rerun after another. Checking the schedule tonight I see reruns all evening.
Are the networks trying to lose viewers? This is ridiculous

It's funny, because, now all I hear in my head is that commercial where the little boy mimicks his dad saying sick of it. I'm sick of it too, just sick of it.

So sick of it, I actually watched a full episode of Glee, well the song and dance sequences anyway.

SICK OF IT!

This always happens in January (and late October). The ratings companies measure ratings all the time, but the most comprehensive studies are done in February and November. The networks know this and schedule new programming (and what they consider to be their best programming, perhaps a debatable concept) during those months, referred to in the TV biz as "Sweeps."

Unfortunately, that leaves the post-holiday season as a vast wasteland of programming as the networks prepare their new "blockbusters" that will appear in February. In a matter of days, your television screens will be inundated with ads for "must-see TV" programs of all sorts -- from "super new" episodes of your favorite series to sports specials to movie premieres. The late-night talk shows will provide a parade of A-list guests. And if there are any soap operas left, they'll be scheduling weddings for their lead characters or unveiling the crazed killer that's been on the loose for half a year.

Sweeps weeks will crank into high gear right after the Super Bowl.

This is why I'm loving Showtime and HBO. New episodes of my favorite shows and a reshowing (re-run) of Game so I can be caught up for the new season in April.

It's mid-season. I actually am happy for the reruns because it gives me a chance to catch up on shows I have DVR'd.

Me too. Or I focus on some other series that I wasn't able to watch the first time around. With a DVR, there's always something on. I have two of them. Once you're used to them, you can't give them up.
