Oy, yes. I noted that mistake, but forgot to correct it.
I thought they casted Asha (Theon's sister) almost perfectly, but lord knows why they changed her name to Yara. Maybe to distinguish her more from Arya? I was watching that scene w/ someone who hadn't read the book and he noticed that I was grimacing! GoT is ripe with incest!
So many great scenes this episode: the scene between Gendry and Arya, the scene w/ Littlefinger, any and all scenes w/ Tyrion. Cersei definitely hit a sore spot there.
For those who read the books, some questions-it's been a while since I've read Clash of Kings (answer in spoiler tab please):
-I got the impression that Stannis' daughter has been omitted from the show from what Melissandre said about his wife. Have we seen King Robert's bastard at Drangonstone yet or is that further in the series?
-There was a reference made to Dornish wine and now I'm wondering if we'll see any of the Martells this season, specifically the Viper. Can't remember if they show up in CoK at all

Yeah, I thought I misheard that name! It wouldn't have been Arya they were worrying about with regards to confusion, it would have been Osha-the wildling woman that is now a prisoner of the Starks after being involved in the confrontation with Bran in the forest. She was in the first episode of season 2 with Bran in the God's wood I think. In the book Theon even remarks how Asha is sort of similar to her in behavior and even has a very similar sounding name. That said they look nothing alike in the show so I don't know why they bothered.
Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed in this season so far. I've probably spoiled it since I've read CoK but GoT deviated very little from the book so I was expected similar for Season 2.

Yeah I love how theon had his hand down his sisters pants. I remember that from the book. It was funnier seeing it though

Question for those who watch the show but haven't read the books:
Do you have any idea what's going on?
I get it, but I've read the books. But as I'm watching it, I don't know that I would understand everything had I not read the books beforehand.

The same thought occurred to me as I've read CoK. That's why I said I was kind of disappointed in this season so far...I feel like if I had not read the books I'd be totally lost since it doesn't seem like things are being conveyed very well. And there are several outright departures already.

Yes same thoughts. If i had not read the books multiple times I would have no idea what was going on.

As much as I liked Season 1, I felt the same way about Season 1. Had I not read the book, I would've been so confused.

I have not read the books and was able to follow season 1 pretty well. However, when the season was over I went online and read the wiki/lengthy synopsis of the first book to gain a better understanding. I have a couple of coworkers who are into the series and are following along well without having read the books. However, I did give a couple of them who just started watching the first season some backstory to help them get into it.
I think that the main difference is one of depth. The show is good at accurately portraying what the characters are doing, what is happening and gives you just enough so that you have somewhat of an understanding of why. However, what the show is bad at is giving you the deep details of the backstories that flesh out the characters and their motivations. For instance, there was extensive backstory and foreshadowing in the first novel around Bran's dreams and flashbacks that Ned had while in the dungeon that never happened in the show.
Someone who read the book would have a much better understanding of the history of Westeros, what happened in the war that put King Robert on the throne and some foreshadowing of future plot lines and some of the "big questions". Someone who only watched the show wouldn't really have any understanding of those things as they are only leaked out in bits and pieces when they are absolutely needed to move the plot forward or help explain why someone is doing something in the current plot.
It seems HBO understands this somewhat and on OnDemand and HBO Go they have little snippets about each character and some of the locations that give you the backstory. The 30 or so minute primer that they had on the second season also helped fill in some of the blanks with a little more information. I think with these they are basically acknowledging the fact that you can just watch the show, follow the plot and be entertained by it, but if you really want to understand the show you need to dig a little deeper either into the other clips they provide or by reading the books.

Im wondering what scenes they cut? Anyone have any idea
The hit fantasy drama, which is back for a second series, is based on George R R Martin’s epic novels.
The creators of the show, David Benioff and D B Weiss, who have spent more than six years on the project, admitted they had to cut a number of plots because they were too rude.
David described some scenes as “risque” and admitted they would be “behind bars right now” if they had included every scene from Martin’s books.
DB Weiss said: “There’s a lot of sexual content in the books. Some of it involves children and we couldn’t film it for legal or moral reasons.
“But the sex is one of the things that we like about the books – the characters really think about it.”

Okay, still confused who the witch is and where she came from. Was she in season one?
