It's an interesting glimpse into the past. For example, here's the primetime scheduling on ABC/CBS/NBC for the 1985-86 television season:

Here's the weekday schedule for that same season:

1985–1986 United States network television schedule (weekday)

The late-night/overnight schedule:

1985–1986 United States network television schedule (late night)

...and for Saturday morning:

And here's a clickable table of years and their TV schedules from the late 1940's until today:

Lists of United States network television schedules

The older schedules are fascinating in their own way - for instance, in the fall of 1949, CBS apparently used two hours of its broadcast day (11am to 1pm) to show the proceedings of the United Nations' general assembly.

There are also a few schedules available for Canadian and Australian TV on Wikipedia, though mainly from recent times:

Great, now we can remember the good old days of TV back before all this crappy reality TV. Those were the days back when we had great shows like Manimal, Automan and The Master.

You can also watch promos for them on Youtube. There are tons and tons of clips, and opening and closing credits. You might even find them from stations you grew up watching which really adds to the nostalgia.
