I can put up with out of the ordinary ideas. I really take umbrage to groups that do not prepare their children to survive in the outside world. If kids have at least their high school diploma they have a possibility of making it outside, getting a job, putting themselves through college.

Pulling kids out of school at an early age or giving them a shoddy education or teaching girls only homemaking is tantamount to slavery in my books. Nearly every adult should have freedom of choice in the fundamentals.

So, these Hutterites and Amish and Fundie Mormons are all cults in my book.

I did not love the last Bush, but I do agree that we should have some minimum standard of education around the nation, including home schooled kids. These kids should be randomly tested in various subjects to ensure that their training is up to par.

That one hairdresser gives them all the same hairdos. They all need a blow dryer and a can of mouse!

Oh my gosh, the episode with Claudia doing men's work had me laughing so hard! I love it when they argue with each other. The accents, the high pitch, the ignorant, sexist drivel coming out of the men's mouths ... wow ... laughing!

Yes, and how most of the women seem so content with their lot. Strange.

I wouldn't say that ... Claudia really pushes the envelope ... And then gets the others thinking ...

I've decided to stop watching this show. I can not tolerate that stupid accent and the way they talk education down anymore. They just don't interest me enough. Ignorant is my take on them.

this show is better than Amish out of order ... tried watching it a couple times and it just turns into a lesson is Mose Gingerich's desperation at leaving the Amish, when he really wants to be Amish.

I agree! And Mose's voice is so boring, so monotone and slow-speaking, i can't tolerate it.

Regarding Meet the Hutterite's, I find it hilarious the way Wesley shakes his head back and forth whenever he is complaining, which seems to be all the time. lol

I gave up on that one too.

I agree. The Hutterites are mostly very poor actors and it shows. They often speak so slowly that a person might think they have mental developmental problems, maybe from intermarrying too much. I, personally, think they speak slowly because they are told to - they might not be understood if they spoke rapidly with some of those strange accents.
