Loved Rhoda. Phyllis was a spin-off too.

"Martin Morgenstern"

The mother was the person (Nancy Walker? ) who was on McMillan & Wife, I think.

I really liked Rhoda as a character on Mary Tyler Moore and had a major crush on Valerie Harper at the time.

I also like the Rhoda show, at least initially. But I think they messed up in marrying her off too fast, and not having enough of a plan of what to do with the character after she was married.

Once they had her split up with Joe, the show became virtually unwatchable. It just sort of unraveled, and they left it to stew in its misery for a couple of years more.

I haven't got to season 3 yet but even with carlton the show was that unwatchable? His voice are the high point of each episode.

"Hello this is Carlton your doorman"

Carlton was a good gag, but yeah, I have to agree that after she divorced Joe, the show wasn't that good. I forgot about that. I haven't seen it since it was originally aired.

Carlton the doorman was played by Lorenzo Music. He also played Officer Judy on the "Somthers Brothers" show.

I enjoyed Rhoda----I miss all the great sitcoms of the 70s and 80s------Mary Tyler Moore, Newhart, ect.......

Yikes most of the sitcoms we get today are defined as cutting edge comedy----except for the Middle and Modern Family the cutting edge comedies on now are unwatchable.
