Default The better 50's sitcom, the Honeymooners or I Love Lucy?

I been trying to see what is all the IIL hype is about today on the Hallmark marathon and the show is just too cartoonish to me with Lucy and her physical comedy and crying like a little girl. The Honeymooners was more of an adult show and dealt with more serious topics which was almost like a 70's sitcom filmed in black and white. And the Ralph Kramden character was just one of the best characters of all time.

Anyone else think the Honeymooners is the better 50's TV show?

I liked The Honeymooners better. Lucy was just too silly too often with those themes about breaking into show business & all . Loved Jackie and Art Carney.

I remember my grandmom saying Lucy was too silly when I was a kid and how she never liked the show when it first aired in the 50's. I caught that candy scene today with Lucy not being able to keep up with the speed of the candy on the belt and stuffing them in her shirt and I turned it off

Lucy!!! Couldn't stand Ralph Kramden (or any of them, really) or the annoying catchphrases.

Love both shows; different in that Lucy was always wanting to get into show business, and Ralph was always looking for a get-rich scheme.

I enjoyed Lucy's comedy in the later shows (when they were in Hollywood for example) than I did the earlier years.

Our cable doesn't show The Honeymooners (not on the plan I have anyway), but I have the DVD set and enjoy watching them again.

Pretty hard to top Alice and Norton!

The Honeymooners was funnier than ILL. The Flintstones was modeled after The Honeymooners. ILL can be down right annoying.
