Programming News for the Jeffersons as a Tribute to Sherman Hemsley
TV One has scheduled a marathon from 8pm to 2am of the Jeffersons on Friday, July 27th and from 2am to 3am TV One will air Amen
TV Land is only doing a 4 hour marathon from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday which proves how much of a joke the network is when it comes to doing the right thing
I think he is a legend and should have a weekend marathon

Are those times right? That's only two episodes of Amen....
I wish they would do a weekend marathon... I'd love to see some of the earlier episodes.

Amen comes on GMC as well so you may get lucky. I have the episode of when the church got sued for food poisoning (Frye For The Defense) saved to my Tivo. Classic!

Earlier episodes of the Jeffersons?
Keep an eye on the 7am-8am episodes that air during the weekdays on TV One. They're rotating through the last season (1985, Season 11) episodes now, and they should be starting back over with Season 1 soon.
As far as 8am-9am episodes of Amen, I think they're at the point in the episode rotation where Thelma's getting married to Reverend Gregory.

This morning, they showed the episode where Louise ran Charlie's bar while he attended his Aunt's funeral in Florida (the one where the Skulls and Crossbones destroyed the bar), which was from Season 11.

Living in the southwest now, I did not even know the Sherman Hemsley was living in El Paso----just down the road from here.
The El Paso tv stations had some nice stories about him tonight. He seemed to be quite well liked in the area. The stories went to explain that he moved full time to the area about six years ago----he found El Paso to be more peaceful than California.
Nice tributes by the El Paso tv stations----R.I.P Mr. Hemsley.
Thanks for the programming info---- enjoyed his portrayal of George Jefferson.
