Thank heaven for the DVR, I no longer have to care what nights have good TV shows and what nights don't. Greatest invention of the last century;-)

I am SERIOUSLY glad they don't do a big fall premiere week anymore, because once that season of shows ended, that was it! No Winter season shows, no summer season shows....just 26 weeks of reruns, movie of the weeks and specials. I was telling my kids about that and they were completely flabbergasted. No wonder we were able to survive with just 12 channels for all those years.

I think we are truly blessed to have the more modern rotating schedule of seasons.

I'd love to go back to the really old way! Back when I was young, shows used to have a lot more new episodes and with much fewer minutes of commercials, you saw more of the actual show. Fall and Spring new episodes weren't a couple episodes in a row, then having to wait two or three weeks for one more, then skip a week for the next new episode, etc. Each show was mostly every week a new one. There was not a very long break in winter without new shows (like now), it was a much shorter time and the Christmas/New Year time had some good movies and specials. Summer had reruns, granted. But I find summer TV pretty boring nowadays and a couple of my current shows aren't doing reruns...I'd much rather watch those reruns than reality shows and such. Others are doing reruns, so if I really like the show enough, I might watch! Otherwise, I watch PBS documentaries or TV shows and movies on DVD.

The Carol Burnett Show

Now that was an awesome lineup!!!
It sure was, wasn't it? Gave the poor blokes who worked M-F a real treat on the one night they could stay up later.

I'm glad to see "Unforgettable" was not totally shelved. I enjoyed it.

Looking forward to "Elementary", "666 Park Avenue", "Vegas".

after looking at the lineups half of these shows will be gone after the first or second airing just my humble opinion of course but I know what I like to look at on tv and some of these are certainly not what I would watch LOL ...
