I haven't bought a DVD in years. Between Netflix, TV and Torrents, I can find whatever I want for anywhere from cheap to free. Could never justify dropping $20-$60 for a box set.
That subject has been reflected in the huge price drops I've seen lately at the retail stores. I was in Office Max the other day to buy some items, I generally don't shop there. A lot of three and four DVD sets of a variety of shows were on sale there for $9.99 to $14.99, obviously discounted down 50% to 75%.
I always buy DVDs. I go and buy my favorite television series and watch them. The best part about DVDs are, when you're done watching them, you get to keep them. Over the years ,I have accumulated over 3000 episodes of my favorite tv shows. DVDs are way better than Netflix ,or any other thing like Netflix.
I have a few, the Simpsons, Family Guy, Viva La Bam and Spiderman 66 before Netflix was streaming and also the two seasons of Arrow released on DVD (12.99 each on Black Friday.) With the advent of Netflix and even Hulu Plus, this is not as needed.

Same here I've always had a large video library going back to VHS days. I prefer hard copies to online storage because that way, you don't lose anything. With streaming services (whatever one you use), you run the risk of having your entire library deleted. DVD's take care of that.

I'll agree to disagree. I have around 200 series (and another couple hundred movies) but dont own a single dvd. I have everything digital with a second hard drive as backup. I can watch any of them from any of the computers and any of the tv's in the house at any given time.
