This show is still in heavy reruns 23 years after it went on the air. Oddly until it went into syndication in 1995 it was not that popular. Shows like Family Matters, Fresh Prince, and Growing Pains were what was popular at the time. Once Seinfeld did well in syndication, the ratings increased for the new once a week episodes.
I like this show but what ruined some of it for me was finding out it was filmed in Los Angeles....even the outdoor scenes were filmed in Los Angeles, it took away from the NYC charm it created.
Another factor I notice is die hard fans of the show hated the last 2 seasons after Larry David left, but the other type of fans like those episodes better....even in reruns they focus more on episodes from the last 2 or 3 seasons.
As I understand it, Jerry is the one who wanted to end the show. He was the straight man, and not as funny as the other characters. The show would be great without him. If he wants a royalty for the characters, then give it to him. Sure the characters got older, but their main appeal is to aging boomers anyway. None of the actors have come close to the success of that show, and would probably love to revive it... especially Kramer.
What's the freakin point??????
His co stars were funny because they followed HIS lead.
It would be like bringing back "Fresh Prince of Belair" w/o Will Smith

Jerry wasn't the funny one - he was a setup for characters like Kramer, Elaine, Newman, George. Hell, Ashton Kucthner can't carry Charlie Sheens's show, but he can be a straight man.

I doubt Larry David has any desire to do that, but u could always ask him. I'm sure he's on twitter or something.
