Which cable company do you have? Comcast doesn't let you fast forward through commercials on most shows, at least most network shows. They still stretch a 22 minute program into 30 minutes. And then the commercials usually repeat as well, which makes it even worse. I much prefer watching on the DVR because I can fast forward through commercials then.

I have an odd work schedule (up at 2:30 am) so all of my shows are on the dvr since i'm sleeping before most of them air.

occasionally I'll watch a show online.

trying to watch a football game on the weekend you catch up on all of the commercials you managed to skip during the week. I swear every 3 seconds they go to commercial.

Of your four options, I prefer #1- DVR.

I also use the system that when commercials come on, I switch stations to something else, like a sports contest or a news show.

I think everyone should watch on demand because I'm starting to notice the eps on Demand are longer than the ones on Network TV

Can't afford DVR, Internet is fine if I have the time but give me the good ole Tele! I like my shows at night, and commercials just give me a chance to go to the bathroom when needed. LOL.

I'm getting too old for this new "on demand" whatever that even is. LOL

JMHO

Don't be surprised if On Demand will start to be a fee like the DVR and HD service
