It's strange how some alcoholics seem to have a complete personality change while drinking.

That's why alkies are alkies, they like themselves more when they have alcohol in them. It gives them courage. Too bad they can not see what it really does to them.

But I've known some who were addicted, but did not have that personality change. Jeeze, I remember being at a friend's house and her mom pushed us both into the bedroom. My girlfriend locked the door. The father came home drunk. Noisy and belligerent, and trying to open that door. Scared the heck out of me.

What a thing, to grow up so frightened of your own dad. What a role model for the kids.
