Do you mean Jack and Claire? They have the same dad (Christian Sheppard).

I'm just wondering if anyone saw this yet and if there's any comments. It's not any kind of whacky theory, just a parody.

And we've got a new recap here; The Shape of Things to Come.

And for more theories, here's a glimpse or a spin on what's going on.

McGowdog - I love those recaps! I always read them, they're hilarious. She's a bit anti-Jack, but she's very funny. I love all the references to other shows/movies she makes.

Now about last nights episode. I'm going to watch it again. I was really really intruiged by the passage that Jack was reading to Aaron at first. And now I read in that EW link what it said again:

Quote:
''Alice took up the fan...and, as the hall was very hot, she kept fanning herself all the time she went on talking: 'Dear, dear, how q*eer everything is today. And yesterday things went on just as usual. I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think: Was I the same when I got up this morning?...If I'm not the same, the next question is, who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.' ''
We've seen that Alice in Wonderland has a big influence on this show (White Rabbit, Through the Looking Glass, etc). And they've mostly centered around Jack. Hmmm... has anyone actually ever read this book? It'd be interesting to now I think, maybe I'll pick it up sometime.

So many theories and ideas come into my head at one time that by the time I want to write them here I forget lol.

Now at the point when Claire sees her dad on the island, she doesn't know that he is dead, right? Only Jack knows that he is dead at this point, right?

I cant believe I hadnt realized that. No, theres definitely no reason to believe she knows he's dead.

When Jack and Claire do find out theyre related though, I wonder how it'll happen. Remember Claire's flashback, when her moms in the hospital, and Christian and her have coffee together or something. Claire says something like "You may be my father, but I dont even know your name. And I dont want to". So how would Claire and Jack know they had the same dad?

Geez, its all so intricate and confusing. I really hope they start to answer some questions soon. Hopefully we'll learn a lot in the season finale in a few weeks!

edit: Unless... Claire never finds out that she and Jack are related. Maybe the reason why Jack didnt want to be around Aaron was because he found out once he got off the island. Just a thought.

And wow I take it back, this episode was not a complete waste. Once you start analyzing, it was actually great!

Maybe Jack is a little affraid of the boy because there was a theory at one point that Claire was meant to NOT get to California, that the island WANTED the boy to be born there. Maybe there is something mystical about the boy. Maybe the island wants the boy back, remember the big push to get women pregnant and get them to have children.

Remember how Claire was able to give birth on the island and no other women except for maybe the French lady had been able to have children there?

I think I do remember now Claire seeing jacks Dad but wasn't it a long time ago?

ok, from what I've heard, immediately after her house blows up, Claire gets knocked out and has some sort of vision, but this scene was cut out of the episode due to time. maybe they just forgot to cut out that line as well

I think Claire's w/ "Christian" and that how she learns he's Jack's dad as well. or maybe Miles say christian and describes him in such a way that Jack recognizes him (Christian is wearing only one white tennis shoe and a full suit, he kind of sticks out), then Jack will just add up the pieces that way

Lindsay, the reason Claire and Danielle gave birth w/ no problems on the island is because the babies were conceived off island. Sun's baby, as far as we know, is the first baby to be conceived on island that was born (albeit, off island). I bet you anything Ji Yeon is not normal and there will be people after here b/c of this

here's a question i have: while they were panning down the deliciousness that is Jack's naked body ( ), did anyone see a scar from when his appendix was removed? I don't remember seeing any, which would have helped a bit in pinpointing when these flashforwards are happening. these people are going out of their way to keep us in the dark of when these flashforwards are happening. yeah, Aaron is like 3 or 4 years old, but when you toss in time travel, that may not mean much in terms of how longs they've been off the island (heck, Aaron could have aged during the process of escaping from the island!). and we can assume that Sun gave birth around July/August of 2005, but that would bring into question her DOC and when she conceived versus when Jin "died". Jack had the paper about the Yanks/Red Sox game, but I don't recall any dates on the paper itself (I'm sure there are people trying to figure this out based on the scores on the other page). and if Aaron aged normally and they got off of the island in 2004/early 2005, then Kate's trial took a very long time to begin.

I swear, the big reveal is going to be they escaped into the future or something and that

Yeah I heard about that. But I dont think it was a mistake that they left that in there, because of what Claire said to Miles, "at least I'm not seeing things that arent there anymore". Or something like that. Somethings going on with that.

As far as timelines go, in that EW article that McGowdog linked, it says:

Quote:
On the timing of Jack's flash-forward The headline of Jack's newspaper read, ''Yankees bludgeon Red Sox in series sweep.'' The Yankees swept a series with the Red Sox late in the 2006 season (a historic five-game wipeout) and the 2007 season (a traditional three-game set). If you pause the picture (on a high-def DVR), you can make out the score 5-0, which is how the 2007 series ended. So I'm going to call it: Jack's flash-forward took place in late summer of 2007.
Assuming thats correct, it would be about 2 years after they got off the island... right? So Aaron would/should be about 2 1/2-3 years old.

It seems they're trying to catch up with real time. I guess it depends on what time Jack's first flash forward takes place (the first Jack/Kate encounter at the airport, the funeral, etc). Obviously it happens after he and Kate split up, so after summer of '07. But then, that doesnt mean that that exact amount of time has passed on the island as you said.

Just got through watching the last episode.

"here's a question i have: while they were panning down the deliciousness that is Jack's naked body ( ), did anyone see a scar from when his appendix was removed? I don't remember seeing any, which would have helped a bit in pinpointing when these flashforwards are happening."

Yes, eevee, I did see Jack's scar. Right where mine is. Looks just like mine too. Does that help your theorizing?

Sounds like Jack knows about his relationship with Claire. If he doesn't, that was one very nasty low blow to throw at Kate! Was that the end of Claire? Is she going to be MIA with Dad? That looked like one very short engagement to me!

I don't theorize about Lost, it gives me a headache. LOL I just watch it and "go with the flow".

In that EW article, it pointed towards Claire being a ghost.

We found this an interesting theory, but why would Sawyer, Hurley, etc. be able to see this ghost? It doesn't make much sense, but what does on this island?

It doesn't seem too plausible that Claire could have actually died in that blast, until I consider one thing; just why is Miles SO interested in Claire? Why does Sawyer take so much offense to Miles checkin' her out? He's a ghost-buster, right? Mere mortals don't really turn him on too much. But this Claire chick is special for some reason, right?

Might be something to this.
