I have been kind of wondering the same thing, if it seems that people are alive, are they not posibly dead and if it seems that someone is bad like Ben is it not posible that he is good.
Tony, I think your brilliant. Please promise you will keep coming back and sharing your impressions.

Thank you Lindsey. I look at it this way...I have 50/50 chance that 50% of what I hypothesize, theorize, think, whatever, will be right at some point. LOL.
Chiefs fan: I do believe that we can say with certainty that Christian Shepard is dead. If you recall, the entire reason that Jack was in Australia was to both identify his father's body and return it to the U.S. That's how he ended up on Flight 815. Remember too that Jack began to see his father on the island shortly after the plane crash. In fact, it was visions of his father that led him to the caves where some Flight 815 wreckage was, Christian Shepard's coffin being among the items. Only thing was, the coffin was empty. Somehow, someway, he ended up in Jacob's rocking chair.
When Jack see's Christian at the hospital for that first time, he hasn't started down the road yet to excessive drinking and prescription drug abuse. Looks like the event is actually what starts it, his desire to make the "hallucination" go away. And as you pointed out, by the time he makes the reference about his father being alive, the combination of the drugs, alcohol, and probably frequent visits from his father, have completely messed with his sense of reality. That, or he may be remembering back to the days when he and his father did work together and his father often was drunk in his office.
Eevee: You aren't the only one that doesn't think that it's Michael in that coffin. I don't think it is either. My way out in left field theory is that it's Kate's mom. I thought I gave a pretty good explanation in a previous post as to why I think that. But I don't think anyone wants to buy into that one with me. LOL.

HERE is the recap from the same person I posted last week. They point out some really interesting things. One that caught my attention the most was, speaking about Locke:
Quote:
|
The Island will protect the hero it needs. Now it's up to The Chosen One to face his first Challenge. There is a disturbance in the Force. The hero's task is simple: Move the Island. Maybe the Island wants to jump Galactica-style through Space. Or maybe it's looking to hop into a wormhole and travel through Time instead.
|
I hadnt even thought of the Island moving through time, but as we saw in the episode, when Horace showed in that dream to John, he was stuck in a time loop. So it definitely seems like a possibility doesnt it?
As to who's in the coffin. I read a theory not long ago that it might be Ben. It kind of makes sense. It would make sense that Jack was all bent out of shape over it, because that would mean that their one connection back to the Island is gone, and now he doesnt know how to get back. And it would also explain why Kate didnt go to the funeral, and why Jack said he was neither friend nor family. So I dont know, I'm kind of leaning towards Ben.

I'm starting to think they need to write a book that will be MORE detailed. Normally they write a book and then make it into a TV or movie.

All very nice theories to ponder.
But on the lighter side, we've got a parody of Something Nice Back Home right here.

I just watched Thursday's episode on Friday night. Wow....they are really messing with my mind this season! I have no idea what is going on. But I love it so I guess it doesn't matter. The previews for this week look awesome!

I don't even try to translate what lasdjf;lasdklf;kasld means.
Knowing Ack, it's probably something nasty.
She probably starts to puddle up when she thinks about Sawyer carrying around a baby or something. Whatever floats her boat.
For example: "yeah my ovaries absolutely exploded at the sight of Sawyer with a baby…"
I decided to email Rachel and ask her what that meant. I'll let you know if she responds. I couldn't find any response to what that meant anywhere.
