I'm either rooting for jason/amy or the afghan.. hubby thinks the afghan cousins are going to take it and I don't mind.. as long as pinky and no brain doesn't win i'm kool. btw that was a shady move by the ER docs.. they must feel threatened lol
Don't know anything about accents, living deep in Minnesota.
If Jason and Amy don't win it, I hope they at least win a leg.
LOL - me either living in North Carolina and all
I think Jason and Amy did win one leg or am I forgetting something .... Oh, did you notice when they were fist getting in to the car and had to do the code from the coins Jason said, "Amy already cracked the code" which tells me that they are taking some serious notes and tells me that when it comes to the finals and the last "memory" test - these two have got it in the bag!
LOL, Yay! Thanks, Halo! Now that they are getting more air-time, even I have been noticing Jason's accent. Funny to hear what I probably sound like to others. No wonder people can tell where I'm from in general. Amy comes from Rhode Island but I haven't noticed the "typical" RI accent on her yet. Maybe she was brought up by Mass. parents. I'll have to listen to her more closely. RIers have a more "hard, nasal" sound like New Yorkers.
Oh, how I wish Pinky and No Brains would lose a leg and go home. I would be sorely disappointed if they won.
Being from Kansas, a New England accent is obvious to me. But not so much with Amy. Perhaps as a longtime pageant contestant, she learned to neutralize any accent.
I'm sure it's frustrating for them to finish second repeatedly. It would be a nice payoff to see them win in the end.
Unfortunately you can't discount Tim and Marie. They are young and fit, and that can hide a lot of other deficiencies when all teams are likely mentally exhausted at this point in the race.
As long as you never finish last, you only need to win one leg of the race.
thank you!!! that's what I scream at the teams each week. The luxury taxes and any more taxes the govt can get their hands on from all those trips/cars/etc is going to be so not worth it.
Say you win $10,000 for one of those legs and the IRS takes 30%, you don't think it's "worth it" to have $7,000 in your pocket?
you pay state taxes too.
I had friend win a car at a casino. She wasn't a poor person either but couldn't afford the taxes so had to rush to sell the car because the tax agents want their $$$$ right away
Jason and Amy won a leg within the first 2 or 3 shows.
Back in the 60's an aunt of mine was Champion on "Concentration" with Hugh Downs for many days. Maybe weeks(?). IDK, I was very small but I remember my mother and Nana talking about how Auntie Irene had to sell most everything she won because of taxes.
