I cannot believe that I am the only one on this forum enjoying this PBS series! I will be tuning in tonight at 8 pm for this week's episode. Downton Abbey it is not, but it is well acted and has an entertaining plot.
Just saw the final episode and still crying a little bit even though then ending is happy. That was a great series. The acting was perfect. Of course I would have liked to see the wedding and see them speed off in their red car but maybe that would have been too cliche. It ended well but I just wish it could have shown him fully recovered and maybe some dreamy shots of their wedding and driving off into the sunset. It just ended too abruptly. Great program though and I want more like this.
We are almost to the point of watching only PBS any more. Loved this series. Anybody else remember him in 1976 production of i Claudius? He's a terrific actor. and honestly he hasn't changed that much in all these years. he was white haired in I, Claudius as well.
Thank goodness! I guess it could have ended with that last episode, but that would have been a shame. I believe there is much more to tell (about the different characters).
Just finished watching episode 5, sad there's only one more episode
but heartened that there is supposed to be a new season, though dunno' how soon that could be.
I like the multi-generational drama & comedy, with talented actors throughout-
all of them are a complex mix of relatable & quirky.
Oh baby, I just did a marathon viewing of all sex episodes of series/season 1. LOVED it! On a secondary level, I liked how Nichola Walker's character here, Gillian, is so sixually "open" compared to her prim/spinsterish character on MI5/Spooks. I'll definitely be waiting for S2.
