I must have missed those.

What we like about it is that all the people look like real people. Nobody extra attractive or unrealistic looking.

Loved the series -- finally caught up with it and watched the last one today. There's another season? That should be great!

My only concern was the whole subplot of the one daughter becoming involved with one of the teachers at the school. I guess it was the American in me thinking "Don't they have laws against having a relationship with someone that you directly supervise?" But I guess that's a policy set by each individual company/institution. (My fear is that once the relationship becomes public, they could get fired by the school board / board of directors).

Well I did also type "sixually" to preserve the e/i count.

I wonder if the goings on in the "haunted hall" will be revisited/revealed next season? Does it seem obvious that Caroline's oldest son will probably come out as gay? How about the irritating/despicable characters becoming less so? Robbie, John the soon to be ex-hubbie, the "*****" Judith, the gigi/olo Jatri. Will the burnt out first Red Rover (a an 88" Series II? vs the newer Defender 90) still be in the driveway (forecourt?) next season?

Whoa, this show could easily find material for several more seasons. Internet says Derek Jacobi is 74 and Anne Reid is 78 though...

I don't think I would have watched this show if not for this CD thread!

Me too. It's like a breath of fresh air.

I have always loved Derek Jacobi, from I Claudius through The Kings Speech. I wish I could see him on stage.

Yes, I like that about this show but it's also true of many UK programs in general, which I appreciate.
And I enjoy how the Gillian character is allowed to have a sex life
and is shown to be an imperfect person with needs & desires, rather than have to be a prim celibate widow.

LOL, Celia said they were to Caroline. Alan is supposed to be 76ish right? I am told male turgidity at that age is very rare.

Don't tell that to my almost 74 year old husband!
