me too--obviously wearibility for all types of clients WAS NOT a criteria and judging from the looks of anger and meanness from irina-fear of the wrath of the designer WAS THE MAIN CRITERIA for picking the winner
As much as I didn't care for Irina personally, I doubt that Michael Kors, Nina Garcia etc chose her to win out of some kind of fear....
that was a tongue in cheek quote--translation---her designs imho were NOT award winning--i was looking for another criteria for her win such as --maybe her family were holding tim as hostage til she won
FWIW: According to this interview, Tim Gunn says that Irina was a former student of his.
Not saying that's the reason for her win, but it makes me wonder if there wasn't at least some favoritism at work.
Look folks, the bottom line is Irina is a Parson's grad +, a New Yorker ++, she had the experience and all the reference resources that New York has to offer (fashion shows, writers, stylist, models etc, etc,) +++, which in fashion is everything. She knew how to put on a show which is more than singular great pieces.

I don't like it, but dems the facts.
