In one of the episodes Stewie tells Brian that his return pad takes double D batteries instead of the plutonium
stuff he used before. So he could just get some new batteries and go back in time and save Brian from getting run over and dying.

Interesting idea. I'll give you originality points. I personally don't care if Brian is gone or not, it does leave it open for Stewie to find a new frenemy to play off of. However at the same time, it could end up being a jump the shark moment for the show.

Thanks, yeah the battery for the return pad, was in the episode where Stewie and Brian went back to 1999 of the first Family Guy episode.

I doubt they'll use the time machine angle. they spent part of that episode (Life of Brian) destroying the time machine he already had. I figured they did that to make a point. Hopefully they leave it that way and leave Brian dead. I liked his character and the show will seem different, but if they pull a soap opera style swerve and bring him back it'll make Brian's death seem like it was nothing more than a cheap ratings grab.

But what if Stewie travelled to now from back before it was destroyed takes current Stewie back in time to save Brian? Once the possibility of time travel is introduced, anything is possible.
