Default Can't remember which TV show this is - can someone help me out?

We recently watched an episode of a series on one of the major networks, where the episode began in a coffee shop where a girl runs into an attractive guy and they end up exchanging contact info. (It is some sort of crime drama btw.)

In the epsode, she mentions to a colleague when she gets to the office, that girls like her don't get attention from guys like the one she met in the coffee place, and the colleague tells her to go with her gut if she thinks something is "off".

Fast forward to the "scenes from the next episode" part, where she gets shot by the "dream date" guy on her own doorstep after escorting her home, delivering a line something to the tune of, "I've been waiting to do this all night" - bang!

I started thinking it might be CSI NY, but when I checked their website it didn't have anything with this storyline. Hope that i have provided enough info to jog someone's memory - thanks in advance!

Yes!! That's the one!! Thanks for the quick reply - I totally forgot the actors but now that I checked out their website, how could I forget the guy from Darma & Greg, and Joe Montegna?

I don't know how we missed this show until just a few weeks ago - one episode, and we are curious to see what happens next! I took the test on the Criminal Minds website on CBS and got 27 out of 30 - I guess that's why this show appeals to me so much - I should have considred this as a career choice!
