Here's a link to an article about season 3... apparently Direct TV has saved the show for now. TV.com: Friday Night Lights saved...by DirecTV?
I absolutely love FNL... the character development, filming style, and acting are superb. I recently watched the movie The Kingdom and could immediately tell by the style that Peter Berg had in hand in its production... same style as FNL and he has a cameo in it, just like his small part as Tami's ex- boyfriend.
Kyle Chandler= yum!
I am a bit tired of Lyla's character... she has found religion, but is ready to get naked with her new boyfriend first chance she gets
I actually like Saracen better without Julie, she seems a bit immature for him.
Can't wait to see what happens...

Thanks, tlb!
The article you linked to says the show finished at 101 in the ratings last season and I find that so hard to believe considering what a great show it is!

I think if they moved it to another night it would do better... maybe they are keeping it on Friday because of the name
NBC has tanked since the days of "must see TV" Thursday, you'd think they would be willing to try anything for a critically acclaimed show.

The first season it was on Sunday, wasn't it? I can't remember. Also, that article said the show just wrapped it's second season. Did I miss something? There was no end-of-season hype. I thought it was just going on hiatus.
ABC moved Alias around like it was a hot potato. They put it in the crappiest spots. It survived for what.....six seasons?

I didn't watch the first season, so I'm not sure. My guess is the writer's strike got in the way of any end of season hype. I would be curious to know the numbers for viewership in general for Friday night.... I know I don't watch anything except FNL and sometimes watch it online Sat, as we are usually out to dinner or something... that's why I think it would do better on another night.
I loved Alias too, and you are right, they moved it around quite a bit... it did get weird in the end though.

I agree that it would do better on another night, for sure. Not many people I know are home on Fridays - even us, usually, so we have to Tivo it and watch it later.

Oh I am so happy about this. My kids and I watched it religiously. Middle son loves football and we just moved to Tx last year so of course it is a super hit in this household. LOL
I tease my hubby all the time that he has to watch the show so he can pick up the southern accent.
