Anyone watching this US remake of the British show on HBO? I think it's really good.

We've watched it. It's definitely one of those things that makes you pretty uncomfortable to watch, but it has funny moments. I've never liked Laurie Metcalf, which makes her good for the awful doctor. Also, did you notice that one of the patients is the actress who used to play the neighbor Millie Helper on the old Dick Van Dyke show?

Pretty good so far. I've always liked Niecy Nash.

OMG. I didn't realize until you mentioned it that she was that annoying woman from that show where they would go in and clean up people's houses!

Much better in this show.

with the exception of Niecy Nash's character, these are all HORRIBLE people. I really like the show though.

quote from last night's episode: " I bought you a pin, and I have an anal fissure, so we're dating."

I'm not sure the manager guy is a horrible person, but he doesn't really seem equal to the job.

I guess I would draw a distinction between that character, who means well but is personally pretty annoying to be around, and the Laurie Metcalf character, who is just an awful person, self-centered, doesn't care about her patients, and is all too willing to shift the blame for her errors onto her underlings.

DiDi is the only character with any sense of morality and compassion. Everyone else is self centered and unwilling to take any responsibility for anything.
