I didn't like the OC last night. I was rolling my eyes at the rewriting of Russian history. I couldn't hear or understand the "commentators" . They just annoyed me. The commercials ruined the ballet. I feel sorry for the Russians, they think they have "freedom" but they are at the mercy of Putin.

The bathroom people will be joining the "circle" people at the Gulag.

There were parts I didn't like & parts I thought were incredible. The lighting technology they used for like the floating horses & the ship was perfect. It was like Trent Reznor produced the show. I thought the spinning light up dancers was totally cool. I loathe the NBC commentators, just loathe them. I hated them during the summer Olympics as well. Their constant talking & passive aggressive jabs was unprofessional. Personally, they should fire Lauer & Viera.

Couldn't have said it better. I thought the opening ceremonies were spectacular in some parts, some of the best I've seen. The projected images on the floor of the stadium were truly stunning...marvelous. I also loved the music and the ballet, it was lovely.

Those are the official gloves of the Sochi Olympics. They're not rainbow colored, they are each a color of the Olympic rings.

Black is definitely not a color of the rainbow.

No, let's keep Bob Costas. At least he knows what he's talking about.

I do wish the commentators during the events would dial it down a notch. Not everyone can shout like Mike Emrick and get away with it.

Out tennis player Billy Jean King and figure skater Brian Boitano at the games' opening ceremonies.
Two weeks later the US delegation will include out - speed skaters Bonnie Blair and Eric Heiden, as well as openly gay hockey player Caitlin Cahow.

For that I will watch, since they are about 12 hours ahead, my news feed will give me a heads up and I will drink Pepsi and avoid other sponsors.
I read unfortunately Billie Jean would not be able to attend because her Mom is seriously ill.

Sadly, she was seriously ill and then died yesterday. Billie Jean made the right decision--she would not have been able to be at her side when she died if she had made the trip.

Have been watching the venues, when the Olympics in 2002 were in Salt lake city, there were crowds of people, not so much here, during the skating, there were lots of empty seats, in the upper tiers.

Thank goodness I get the feed from BBC and Russia, NBC as usual has poor coverage.
