At the retirement party for Detective Munch was the actor Clark Johnson. I'll bet that there aren't too many people who are aware of that significance.

Detective John Munch began his "career" on a show that I think was called "Baltimore Homicide", which I believe was on CBS. One of the detectives was played by Clark Johnson. I don't remember his character's name. The show was cancelled and the following season Detective John Munch moved from Baltimore to New York. If my memory is correct, there was a brief mention of Baltimore in the episode.
For possibly the only time in TV history - a character went from a TV show on one network to a TV show on another network.

Yes But after you have seen them a few times they tend to loose something when you know the end.

Actually John

The show Munch originated was Homicide: Life on the Street (one if the best cop shows) and aired for 7 years on NBC. I knew Johnson right away and said "wow it's Lewis from Homicide". Shame no one else made a cameo.

True SVU ain't what it was but it's still entertaining. This particular episode made my skin crawl. Bobby Elvis from Sons of Anarchy and Rosanna Arquette using their adopted kids for kiddie porn. Jail's too good for people like that

Thanks. I guess my memory failed me. I could have sworn that it was on another network. I didn't know that it lasted that long. So he was Detective John Munch for 22 years. That's a LONG time.
That WAS a good show.

I agree it was. On my personal list of cop shows it's 3rd behind Kojak and Colombo. It got no better than when Pembleton had a suspect in "the box"

I love this show. I've been watching it for years. I was upset when Christopher Meloni left. I keep hoping he will make a cameo.

I loved Munch on "Homicide" and Lewis was one of my other faves. I'm trying to remember if Andre Braugher had any scenes with Belzer on "SVU" when he played a lawyer. Most of his scenes seemed to be with Benson and whoever that guy played by Harry Connick was.

Belzer was also on an "X Files" episode as Det. Munch in a flash back.

It was odd at the end though because he answered the phone 'homicide' then corrected himself. That isn't how he's been answering all these years?

Yes, little details bug me lol.
