profession on Earth. All the men throughout history who had mistresses...common.
Husbands were frequently "cuckhold", and a mistress's child was often raised by
the husband and wife.
Yes and certain indian tribes used flay their own penises to produce blood to give to their gods.... I'm not talking about those days, I'm talking about the days since humanity became civilized. Just because prostitutes have always been around doesn't mean prostitution should be accepted in to daily life does it? Should we start telling young woman that it's ok to prostitute themselves just because it's the oldest profession in the book? I think not. Just because husbands have always cheated on wives doesn't make it right does it?
Should we as a society accept infidelity as just another part of marriage just because husbands have cheated on wives since the beginning of time?
{ btw, I call bull on puritanical children "playing sex".... got links?}

Drugs at the turn of the 19th century were sold over the counter for
children's ailments. Cocaine, marijuana, heroin and other opiates were common
staples in every drug store.
Yes, they were sold and promoted as medicine to heal ailments, not to get stoned. Big difference.

The problem is, all these "vices" used to be perfectly normal and accepted
until the morality police made them tabu throughout the centuries. Yet, despite
the police, they are still just as common today as they were hundreds or
thousands of years ago. Society isn't any different than it was, it's just
regulated, legislated and moralized differently than it was.
I don't disagree. As we became a more civilized people, we realized these things weren't healthy practices for a normal and functioning society, and they became outlawed or made taboo. Now, we seem to be gravitating back toward these old, unenlightened habits. What strikes me particularly funny is some people would call this renewed acceptance "progress" when it is actually a regression to a more primitive time.

.

So I can watch kiddy porn and that says nothing about my character, right?

There comes a time in any argument or a debate where further participation is no longer productive. I think we've hit that point. You have your opinion and I have mine, and neither of us are going to change the others minds.

{ I type this as I'm listening to the news which is talking about a "marijuana contest" to be held in a "pot pavilion" at a fair this summer }
How did kiddy porn come into this conversation from a sitcom called "Two Broke Girls?" I think you need to take this to the psychology forum. I am not getting into a debate about that here, it is OT and has nothing to do with sitcoms.

Neither does pot. Totally OT.

You never did answer the question I did ask that was relevant to TBGs. How do you know so much about the show and for that matter others like it that you are so much against? Do you watch them and take notes?

I agree though, if you cannot stick to the topic, and answer questions that pertain to it, there is nothing more to say.

Its relevant because you said that what people watch and consider entertaining does not reflect on their character as a person.

I did answer your question, I told you I have watched a few episodes of the show. If I hadn't watched it before, how would I know enough about it to declare it filth? I figured that was self explanatory.

I'll watch what I want to watch and you can just watch what you want to watch (which apparently included this show). That's the way it works in this country.
