Encore Classic has been airing

Once again reminded why I like old shows better than new ones.

I used to watch it all the time, but usually when I watch reruns of old childhood favorites, they're painfully dated. Sitcoms definitely aren't what they used to be, but all in all television is much better now than any other time in its history.

I liked Selma Diamond and Karen Austin; after Austin left and Diamond died, the show became tiresome.

That's true for dramas, but sitcoms have definitely seen better days. The only one I like nowadays is The Big Bang Theory. There was a time when you could watch Frazier and Seinfeld on the same night. Now that's some good tv right there. Seinfeld is a little dated (only because a lot of the humor was topical), but still my favorite comedy of all time.

Oops, I forgot to add Cheers!
