If I recall, Jaime offered himself to Grey if he would take care of his son, William, and raise him as his own. Of course Sir John turned him down.
As far as John Grey's feelings about Claire....he is very jealous of her and she of him. But she was able to put those feeling aside to care for him when he had the measles, and he is grateful to her for pretty much saving his life. But there is definitely friction there...both of them are in love with Jaime.
Apologies to those folks who hate references to the books, but one of the reasons for Grey's affinity to Brianna was she was an almost exact double of Jaime in the books, just in female form. He already had a lifelong connection to Jaime because he was raising his son, and felt compelled to help Jaime's other child (Brianna).
Spoiler
As I recall, Sir John was able to make love to Claire because she is one with Jaime. He was pretending she was Jaime, in a way.

Reason: Request to place this in a spoiler
I'm guessing they were brother and sister? Playing Adagio for strings in the last scene last night was utterly Penetrating

Wow, he did a fantastic job of acting. And yes, you're right - that music was perfect for the scene. As soon as it started I thought, "Oh no...where are the tissues...something serious is about to go down..."
I got the sense he was interested in her romantically. I don't remember the details of this part from the book so I'm not sure which is correct, or if he was even included in the book.

hmmmm, maybe your right, but remember when they were talking and she touched his face, I thought at that moment in time, she was his older sister?
