Yes, I remember that episode very well. Courtney was attempting to make gnochhi (potato) and she couldn't even get it right....I understand that they all made mistakes but Courtney even bragged prior to cooking this dish that this was her winning dish and that this is what earned her the apron in the audition for the show. So, she didn't work well under that type of pressure where you need to actually make meals for people in a diner, not a single dish in front of 3 male judges admiring your dresses, shoes, and voice. She just didn't seem cut out for this type of competition in the diner AT ALL.

Elizabeth was way more down-to-earth, worked well under pressure in the diner, she was creative, and overall performed better as team leader if she was given the opportunity. Elizabeth didn't get all the little "saves" that Courtney got. I'm not bashing Courtney, just think she didn't have to make much effort to win because of the breaks she got.

I really wouldn't say Elizabeth was down-to-earth. She seemed a bit elitist to me. Just my impression. She had zero personality. Very stern looking all the time. I'm sure that didn't play well for the 'judges' - aka the producers who want to sell future books or whatever.

I think my key word was "MORE down to earth than" Courtney....you are absolutely right...she wasn't plain out down-to-earth (hence my phrasing quoted above)....in comparison to Courtney. But either way, I still wish them both well and I hope that next MC will be a little more interesting and not so predictable and so much favoritism as I stated in a previous post.
