I will give it a chance. I thought "Bates Motel" was going to be dumb, but it turned out to be a good show. This one might turn out to be good as well.
I see Friday the 13th: The Series and that rediculous but still entertaining 80s-90s show pops in my head. I'll give it a chance especially since the guy behind the original movie has a hand in it.

OMG I love Friday the 13th during 80s -90s. As a kid, I was terrified of it yet wanted to watch it. And as a child, I always thought that it was odd that the lead female character's name was Micki. (7 years old me: "I thought Mickey is a guy a name..")
It really depends on what network this airs. If it comes on NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, or CW I'll pass on it. If it comes on AMC or FX I'll give it a try with some skepticism. But if it comes on HBO or Showtime I'm totally in.
Rest assured a cable channel will get this show. Not as many restrictions. My guess is the producers will try to mimic the From Dusk Till dawn series by going into more detail with background stories etc

I didn't know there was a Friday the 13th show. I was thinking of that weird Freddy Kruegar show from the 90s.
