Alf...night court....taxi was my favorite. Though Taxi started in the late 70s and ran through the early 80s. The wonder Years was another one that I liked. That one started in the late 80s and ran into the 90s.
I think the 60s and 70s were the best decades for tv
In order of preference:
The Cosby Show
Roseanne
Kate & Allie
Taxi
Night Court
Family Ties
I used to think "Coach" was one of my favorites, until I had the opportunity last year to rewatch the entire series. Sadly only a few of the first season episodes were funny; the rest were so formulaic, trite or outlandish, I couldn't believe it. I watched all nine seasons worth of episodes, hoping that it would change and be the hilarious sitcom I remembered. Which if you add it up, comes out to some 65+ hours of my life I will never get back. I guess some things should remain just a memory.
Even though it began in 1989, to me "Seinfeld" was just such an iconic 90s show, I can't bring myself to include it here.

I remember Coach as being really funny as well. I forgot about that one. I also think of Seinfield as a 90s sitcom because it ran throughout the 90s. The first season may have been in the 80s.
I also consider Barney Miller to be a 70s sitcom, though I think it did spill over into the early 80's like Taxi. I actually consider Taxi a 70s sitcom but it did run in the 80s as well
The Cosby Show
The Golden Girls
227
Amen
ALF
Who's The Boss
The Facts of Life
Mama's Family
Night Court
Cheers (thank God today's TV execs weren't around then)
I didn't get into Coach and Roseanne till the 90s and personally even though I'm a Taxi fan (how could you not love Rev., Jim?) I always thought of it as a 70s sitcom. Same with Three's Company
I almost forgot It's a Living. It was part of my saturday nights in the 80s. It's a Living and Mama's Family from 7-8 and then the NBC sitcoms and Hunter to finish the evening

HA! I remember "It's a Living" but I always thought it was cancelled after a few seasons but lived on in syndication. I would have never guessed it survived 120 episodes.
