I'm sure that the intent is to carry the audience for Sherlock over into the new series. If I wasn't already sold on the idea of watching the new series, it would have done the trick for me.

I just checked mine and it seems okay.

I am looking forward to the Sherlock season finale tonight. I have enjoyed the writing and the superb acting this season.

I will probably go ahead and watch at least the first episode of the new show, "Victoria". It looks interesting and stars Jenna Coleman, from Dr. Who.

Anyway, my local TV listings don't have it, but that's happened before. I guess if it's not aired I'll have to find it online later.
Not sure what you mean by "bumped."
My schedule shows that it is still airing tonight, albeit at an earlier time than previously(?).
I don't really know since I don't watch it "live" but only after it shows up on the DVR.

There are so many avenues to catch up on virtually every single program, I'm sure that people who want to see it will find a way to do so.

I guess in my perception the show has been bumped from its usual timeslot of 9 PM, kind of like when an airline overbooks a flight and then bumps passengers off it.

I am not going to watch at 7 PM so I guess I'll catch it online.

Right. PBS has two flagship programs with 2-hour episodes that they want to air during prime time. Airing one at 7 and the other at 9 (which will become its regular time) isn't really a conspiracy.

Excellent ending to Sherlock imho. And I do expect it to be an ending-ending, not just a season finale. I think the stars are too big to come back for another few episodes next year.

Really? I thought it was way too much Batman vs Joker at Arkham Asylum.

If it's really the last I'm disappointed.

Me, too. Suspenseful, but so many unexplained circumstances and plot progressions. For example (trying to not do any spoilers), How did a casket with a nameplate get into that isolated place? How did a man get into a well? Who was doing all this work and heavy lifting, a flying monkey army?

Would have thought it a much more suitable ending if it had
Spoiler
all been a hypnotic spell from sis!

I thought it was

Spoiler
silly that somehow one person can influence dozens of employees, seemingly permanently.

And I'm sorry, but Mycroft

Spoiler
vanishes from a maximum security prison and no one comes looking for him?

An the most brilliant detective

Spoiler
has no clue he had a sister? So his parents never spoke of her again? Really?

And that's not even touching on the unrealistic set up at the prison.

Definitely agreed. And I had to roll my eyes at the "aren't we just spectacular?" ending scenes. The show's gotten a little too in love with itself and a lot farther away from the modern update of a Victorian character.
