Does anyone watch this? It is such a great competition show. Everyone roots for each other, it's edge-of-your-seat entertainment. I just watched a young woman do something that very few men in the competition could accomplish. Amazing!
I'm amazed at the athleticism of these folks. I sometimes think as I am watching ANW, what if I were only 25 years younger. Then I realize I still would not have made it past the first two or three obstacles.
There is a lot of mental to it, too, I think. Some of the people look like such mild mannered, everyday Joes and they get up there and nail it. But, others are professional rock climbers. Who knew you could make a living doing that?
I saw that girl make it through the first round a few weeks ago. When she got to the wall, it was the final obstacle. You could hear a pin drop. It was like the whole crowd was holding its breath willing her to make it.
It is nice to see such good athletes that do something that there is no money in. They do it just for the challenge.
There is money in it, if they win. $500,000 (unless they've changed it to more). And one year they also had a sponsorship deal with K-Swiss. They don't get paid to compete, though the publicity has been enough for some.
The guy from Texas that took in and raised his brothers when his parents divorce, was a beast Last Night!
I like seeing these guys and girls back stories.
I enjoy the show, and I am especially glad that a woman made it this far for the first time.
