His Cocaine addiction finally causes Dr. Thackery to kill a patient and sends him to rehab.
He will stay there for several months while they use a new "perfectly safe" drug from "Bayer, the Asprin company" to ease him out of his Cocain addiction.
The season ends with a close up of the bottle of the new medicine - Heroin.

I knew it was going to be awful - even worse than coke. For a minute I thought they weren't going to show it - Thack is ****ed!
Is this out on DVD yet? I really want to see this. We don't have Nexflix.
I doubt it. The first season just ended a couple months ago. It usually takes at least 6 months before the DVDs come out. The entire season is currently on Cinemax On Demand. It would probably be cheaper just to order Cinemax, watch all the episodes, and then cancel.
I believe you can watch the first season on HBO. It's weird, but they had some kind of special promotion where HBO was carrying it even though it's a Cinemax series. That might not be the case everywhere, or after Season 2 starts tonight.
I can't wait. I plowed through all of Season 1 in a few days. Totally binged on it. It's so horrifying, just from the hygiene standpoint. Honestly, at least once or twice per episode, I found myself saying, out loud, to the TV, "GLOVES!" or "SHARPS CONTAINER!" Medicine sure has come a long way. Thank goodness!
Enjoy the show tonight!
