It really would have been. Just doing it as a web based show with a website would be interesting and drop the voting people off the island. Do a random selection and they have to deal with each other. They would have the option of chosing to leave but it would be voluntary.
I'd like to see problem solving and the like, like say figureing out what each person knew to do and assigning jobs based on that and assuming everyone owed the village so many hours where needed. I'd like to see how and if this random mix can come together and work out a system.
