I'll second that....Jail is great!

One thing about COPS...a LOT of Police Departments aren't interested, so thats why you see a lot of the ones that do. I live in the Washington DC area, which has dozens of police agencies....I've never see any of them on COPS.

The show will not film in a city that is overwhelmingly minority because they do not want to show too much "white cop black suspect" stuff which is why they will not film in places like Detroit and DC.

I love DC and would like to see a COPS show filmed there. I saw one show that was filmed in the suburbs of Phoenix. It was pretty good.

Not necessarily. I don't think you've seen the earlier episodes, apparantly. I've been an avid 'cops' watcher since the 80's. They have filmed in innercities on more than one occassion. I think they've done an excellent job of representing every facet of american crime (from rural america to innercity areas).

Another interesting fact: the producer or someone who created the show is originally from Hillsborogh Cty, Fla. If you pay close attention, cops has been repeatedly filmed in Florida more than any other state. (Not more episodes but more return visits to Florida than any other state, especially in the early episodes).

I went to a drug prevention conference and the cops of Hillsborough cty spoke at the event and shared some stories about working with the show 'cops'.

I get a kick out of it when the cops doing the chasing are fat and out of shape and end up huffing and puffing while the COPS camera person runs like a gazelle.

I watch COPS every day on the television network G4. I love the show! Everyday there are several episodes that come on of COPS and I can't peel my self away from the television! I love it when they chase some crackhead down the street or when they throw to the ground some bad father who tried to beat up on his girlfreind. Have you ever watched that show that is about the S.W.A.T. units in different cities that bust all those bad guys by doing home invasions? I believe the name of the show is S.W.A.T., but I am not sure. If you like COPS, you will probably like that show too.

I've seen a few episodes of Inside American Jail, that is a really good show, I also liked the show where they bait their vehicles for the car thieves to steal so they can catch them in the act.
