I had high hopes for the PBS Masterpiece Theather airing of "Turks & Caicos". After watching same all I could do was scratch my head. What was it (supposed to be) about?? And most of the acting was bad. Certainly a disappointment (for me) for a Masterpiece show.......

Seems Worricker was supposed to be about a retired MI-5, a happenstance event monitored by CIA, and some side stuff. It would have been better if the American roles had been played by American English trained Brit actors. The Brits in the show were, well... very Brit. The Americans... sucked.

I enjoyed it very much and didn't find it confusing at all. I loved the scenes with Christopher Walken and Bill Nighy (one of my favorites). I was surprised to see all those familiar American TV faces. I always liked Zach Grenier. I was expecting "Kalinda," from The Good wife, wearing her PI leather jacket, to enter at any minute. I saw Page Eight and I"m looking forward to the last installment.

It was ok. I did think it was sort of confusing. I really liked seeing Winona Ryder since she keeps such a low profile now. She looked really different. I didn't miss all the violence.
I guess the are on the run and will stumble into spy stuff as they try to lay low? Sort of a solve a spy crime a week sort of thing? I'll keep watching but not with the avidness of some other favorite shows. Speaking of which - where is Doc Martin!?!?!?!

I wasn't sure I'd like it but it drew me in. The cast was excellent, better than I expected. Love to see Bill Nighy. Christopher Walken was just as creepy as usual, no surprises there. Looking forward to the next installment.

^Only info. I know is that series 7, the final one, will be filmed in 2015-
so it's anyone's guess when that might make it to air/be broadcast.
Doc Martin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On this page, they speculate Sept. 2015, though that's subject to change:

PBS Masterpiece Theather airing of "Turks & Caicos"
It's finally hitting my PBS station tonight, so I'll get to see what everyone is talking about

(PS, ya know the word "Theatre" was dropped in 2008, and it's officially known as just Masterpiece [Classic, Mystery, and Contemporary] now, right?)

So after 30 or 40 years of calling it Masterpiece Theatre we can't call it that anymore? Even though it still on Sunday night? Which BTW, is tomorrow.

I watched it for about 10 minutes, then clicked away.

In my opinion, the production is not nearly as good as we saw in former times.
I don't have time to waste on programes of this caliber.
