I don't have Showtime either so I rent the DVDs when they come out. I am almost done watching season 4 and it is absolutely great. I hope season 5 is just as good but I will have to wait until next year when it comes out on DVD to find out

I was not fond of Rita's character.
Lumen is more complex and interesting.
Maybe she and Dexter will pursue her tormentors together but L will start going rogue.

I seriously hope that Dex will get back to following the code more strickly by teaching it to Lumen. But we all know that someday he is going to get caught - hopefully not this season.

In case this happens I wonder if Dex would sacrifice himself by incriminating himself in order to save Lumen (or in the far future his son Harrison)?
Isn't that what a 'normal' parent would do, sacrifice yourself in order to save your loved ones?

Lightbulb Let there be Lumen...., I mean light.

In the 2nd season the contrast between light and dark and good and bad where personified by Dex (a white guy and a serial killer, thus the bad guy) and Doakes (a brother and a cop). This season the theme returns in the guise of 'the spirit of revenge': the dark passenger (of Dex & Lumen) and the girl Lumen.

I find it highly unlikely that Lumen will become unmanageable as some posters here have suggested.
I don't think that Lumen is the devil in disguise.
Although if Lumen was a guy he would have been called Lucifer, which if I'm not mistaken, like Lumen, also means Light.

I fear that Lumen will be abducted by Quin's crooked investigator which will put Quin directly against Dex.
Then again there is a small chance that, because of Rita, Quin might become Dex's 'partner' in crime.
Dex and Lumen sure could use Quin's help because as it is they are severely outmatched.
And the bad guys now know that they are being hunted by a man and their last victim.

After watching last night's episode, I'm begining to think that Lumen is hiding something big. She seems to know more about her perpatrators, more details, than someone held captive would know. I am wondering if it will be discovered that she herself was involved directly with the murderous cult that she is now hunting.

Really?
Lumen was blindfolded, which explains the heightening of her other senses.
Take away sight and people automatically focus on their remaining senses.

And I don't find it strange at all that if you've been tortured for hours (or was it days?) the whole ordeal has been so traumatic and edged into your mind that you unwillingly keep reliving, and thus remembering each detail, every day.
Heck probably each night too, in the form of nightmares.

i didn't get that vibe at all. She really seems a true victim to me. What she IS hiding is what is keeping her estranged from her seemingly loving family. There is something going on there that I'm sure will be revealed.

A previous poster mentioned something about the nanny maybe figuring more darkly into the story. Although I don't think so, it got me suspicious about the St. Bridgette statue. Does it have a camera/recording device in it?? Or am I just being paranoid? She seems so genuine and loving.
