This Netflix series premiered a few days ago. We watched the first 5-6 episodes. Really, really funny. I'm not at all surprised NBC passed on this show, because it is a hundred times funnier and more charming than any other sitcom on that network.

The humor is very much in the vein of 30 Rock. But the characters are more fun.

Kimmy herself is completely charming and sells the show. Her sunny disposition masks a real fierceness.

I was afraid her room mate was going to end up the stereotypical "gay best friend" that so many chick flicks utilize. But he is way more fun than that, and the actor in the part is really good.

Kimmy's boss is fun, but her character felt a tad familiar. The actress is essentially playing the same narcissist she played on 30 Rock, although the character in UKS does have a heart. It's just buried under all the selfishness.

Carol Kane is fun as always.

The best relationship (at least so far) is between Kimmy and her boss's spoiled rotten teenage daughter. The two are at odds throughout the first several episodes, but you can see them slowly building a reluctant respect for one another.

Anyway, it was a nice surprise to find a show with such a ridiculous premise that actually works.

Oh, and the theme song is one of the funniest I've ever heard. I've had it stuck in my head all weekend. Damn it.

I ended up binge watching it this weekend. I hadn't heard much about it but wanted a light comedy that I could half pay attention to while I got some cleaning done around the house. 10 minutes in and I was engrossed.

There's a nice guest spot for Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka that was hilarious.

My favorite guest spot (and I haven't watched the entire series yet), was definitely Martin Short, whom I usually find creepy or obnoxious --- or creepily obnoxious. But his role as the plastic surgeon was creepily hilarious.

I might give this a shot. I am generally not big on single cam comedies (with a couple exceptions) but certainly not above them either.

It's filling the hole in my heart left by 30 Rock. Even though Titus is basically D'Fwan and Jane Krakowski is still playing Jenna, I'm okay with that.

I have about 4 episodes left to watch but I find it extremely funny. The Martin Short episode had me laughing the most. The supporting cast is pretty much perfect. Good to see Carol Kane doing comedy again and not that bit part as Mrs. Cobblepot. And I see we all agree Jane Krakowski is just doing a more morally bankrupt version of Jenna. It's basically in a fun and zany 30 Rock universe. All that's missing is Tina doing a cameo as Liz.

All in all it's a good start and I look forward to the last few episodes and season 2. Shame NBC got rid of it before airing an episode or even a trailer

I see I'm not the only one who binge-watched this over the weekend.

I love that Ellie Kemper has finally gotten a starring role. "I want to be your yellow hat!"

I'm glad they didn't make her overly gullible, because I got that impression from the trailer and it wouldn't have been believable.

Fingers crossed for a second season!
