Better. Color, HD, better quality, better scripts, more variety.

Much worse because every show seems obsessed with violence, vampires, drugs, anything sex related,etc....
Don't get me wrong, there were a few tv shows that were like that in ex: homicide, threes company.
But back in the day, you had less channels ,better programs.
More channels ,does not necessarily mean better programming

Both. Everything I watch is better. Everything I don't watch is worse.

TV is much better than when I was a kid.

It wasnt a draw to keep us inside very much. We were out experiencing life, not enough technology and entertainment to keep us isolated and/or indoors.

Sometimes I do watch the few things I remember enjoying. THere just wasnt AS much and higher standards to compare it to did not exist. (I looooved the Brady Bunch and still watch fondly. As a kid nowadays would they go for it? Hmm.)

When I was a kid all I remember were the cheesy sitcoms and silly crime shows. Horribly acted and poorly written....and yes some of them I loved.
Unfortunately most of broadcast TV is still like that with a few exceptions. Now however we have access to alternative venues beside the major four networks and they often have brilliant programming far better than anything produced in the 70's. With this though does come the fact that there is also far more crap on the air - there is just more of everything.

I rarely watch any new shows now, but that doesn´t mean everything is crap.

1) Digital instead of analog (Not as nice an experience (Natural, etc))
2) CRAPPY PROGRAMMING!!!!!!! (Nothing worth watching)
3) OLDER SHOWS SHOWN DIGITALLY JUST ARE NOT APPEALING TO ME.......

^^^Exactly this. There is so much variety, I can usually find something to watch. If not, there is plenty on my DVR or on Netflix. There are a lot of shows that I really like and I can't remember having this quality available when I was a kid. I like that I can watch the news whenever I want. I like that I can stream shows or record them and binge watch. I don't care much for sitcoms, but there were a lot of them when I growing up. Now I can go years without ever seeing one. I think the last one I watched was the Office.

On the flip side, there is a lot of junk out there. When I was growing up we didn't have infomercials or reality shows. If I only had the three network channels, I would be reading a crapload of books or posting on CD for hours every night. I'd much rather be living in this time period of TV.

Worse. Because the clowns who run TV land want to remake all of the shows that I grew up with. There was one Knight Rider. He was called Michael Knight. There was one Hawaii Five 0. He was called Danno.

In the first episodes Michael Knight got his backstory. He was Michael Long. Until he got surgery and became Michael Knight.
