/runs away crying right along with you. I can't wait! I've always adored the Muppet Show, the Sesame Street ones and the Fraggles too.

Which is why this is so disappointing.

The original Muppet Show was appropriate for children but smart enough for adults. This new version looks neither.

But maybe it's just a bad preview? One can hope.

I think part of the problem is that The last two Muppet movies had more adult oriented jokes or the adult oriented jokes were funnier than the kid jokes. It just might be the writer's of today don't get balancing the two. That said, this show is more in line with the newer Muppet style than the Jim Henson era. It's not a bad thing, tastes change and it had been 25 years since we lost that creative force.

RIP Jim Henson

I actually remember reading that Jim Henson would have liked the Muppets to be more adult oriented but the network wouldn't do that - puppets were for kids. I bet he would love this.

I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't love the Muppets.

The difference between this show and the original is that the original's show was SMART enough for adults to enjoy. This show seems to be CRASS enough for adults.

The original was geared to kids but smart enough for adults.

The new one seems geared toward adults, but in a lowest common denominator sort of way. That is very disappointing.

I thought that trailer had potential. I laughed a few times.

You realize this is just a commercial, right? I've never seen a TV commercial for a scripted show that was an accurate or complete representation of what the show is actually like.

They give the general tone unless it was one of the parody Trailers for The Muppets released in 2011. I still think this concept can work for the Muppets. I rather see them back on the big screen but at least the felt characters aren't going into the closet collecting mothballs.
